Congolese Partners and Pennsylvanian Friends Featured in Web Series

The November installments of the Power of Partnerships and the Friends of Episcopal Relief & Development web series are now available online. These series feature the work of the organization’s partners and supporters worldwide and clearly illustrate the importance of their efforts in helping Episcopal Relief & Development heal a hurting world.

This month’s Power of Partnerships takes a look at the agency’s partnership with the Diocese of Boga in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition to other programming, this collaborative effort has included the creation of the Union des Femmes pour la Paix et la Promotion Sociale (UFPPS), a special ministry designed to reach local women whose lives have been affected by violent conflict in the region. The women receive counseling, participate in reconciliation workshops and gain access to micro-finance programs that enable them to provide for their families.

The work of five-year old Tyler from central Pennsylvania is highlighted in November’s installment of Friends of Episcopal Relief & Development. The article describes his amazing fundraising efforts, which resulted in a $1600 donation to the organization’s Gifts for Life catalog. Tyler’s determination to help families in need is an important reminder that each person has the ability to make a huge difference in the lives of those living in extreme poverty around the world.
