A message from Marti Fagley
Vice President of the Diocesan Episcopal Church Women
Word arrived Saturday from Sandy Shockley, president of the Episcopal Church Women in our diocese, that she has suffered a mild stroke, requiring surgery and a period of convalescence. During this period, as vice president, I have stepped in to assume the responsibilities of her office to provide the time Sandy needs to fully recover. Sandy would appreciate your prayers for her recovery and for her family. The other members of the ECW Board include Meredith Killingsworth, Lynne Minor, Laura Adcock, Cynthia Hill, Patsy Duncan, Deacon Sharla Marks, The Rev. ClayOla Gitane, and Jackie Meeks.
There are two requests for your support and participation in the ECW at this time. The first is to encourage the women of your parish/mission to take the ECW survey that is on the diocesan website. Sandy was instrumental in developing this and the Diocesan ECW Board wants to hear your opinions and ideas for the women of our diocese. A link to the survey is here. The second request is to announce and attend the combined ECW/Daughters of the King Quiet Day that will be held on Saturday, March 24th in the garden at the home of Katie Sherrod. An informational flyer may be downloaded here, and you may register here.
The members of the ECW board thank you for your prayers and support. We hope to see all of you in March.
Your sister in Christ,
